After
Have you ever had one of those days when you just.... couldn't do anything anymore after the fact?
You know... trying not to give up. Holding on to that last little sliver of light because it's the only thing that keeps you going sometimes, no matter how harsh the words or how hard the blows.
After everything's said and done, you still believe that things... can be okay.
After.... it's been some time since I've seen a true after.
A happily ever after.
But I'm not a child anymore. I'm not lulled by fairy tales and promises of true love and everlasting friendship. I'm older now. I've grown up.
I know that happily ever after.... doesn't exist.
For me, there is no happily ever after.
Because I'll always remember the pain. The anger. The sadness.
And after, I'll remember the fact that I still wanted to hold on to you. To our friendship, even after everything that happened.
I wanted... I wanted to save you.
And I couldn't.
The End XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The character in this story is open to your interpretation. It could be Aang, it could be Zuko, Azula, Iroh, Mai, Ty Lee. Whoever you want it to be.
... Written because no matter what, he was my friend and I thought I could help him....

Gorgeous, Radiant Beam, as per usual. This is amazingly written, and something I can relate to as well.

Hmm... nice story, RadiantBeam. Katara was the one who appeared in my mind while reading it.

A short story of purely giving moral. Touching. Really good. I pictured Sokka in my mind. Though he's always portayed himself as the responsible leader, throughout the series he does a lot of maturing with the rough experiences he goes through.
