What ever happened to Zuko's mom? She just said, "Everything I've done was to protect you," in a very serious way. The expression on her face made her look troubled. Maybe she told Azulan and Ozai that instead of killing Zuko, Ozai should kill her, to protect Zuko. I mean, Ozai never answered when Zuko asked where his mom was. I also think that when she said, "Never forget who you are," she meant that he is a true Firebender, no matter what others say. What do you think?

Thats what I thought too? I think she died because they killed her but I'm not sure.

She killed Azulon before he forced Ozai to kill Zuko. She probably then fled, or was.. "taken care of".

Maybe she offered to 'banish herself' to Azulon instead of having Zuko sacrificed, which would have not much impact on Ozai considering he doesn't like Zuko. So Ozai finds out too late that his wife is gone, murders Azulon, alters the will and becomes evil Fire Lord. Romantic, but my theory has a lot of flaws...

I agree. From Zuko's expression at the end, and what she said, I have a funny feeling she died to save Zuko. "Everything I've done has been to protect you." Maybe that was her way of telling Zuko that this was the last thing she was doing for him. She wanted her words to sink in because it was probably the last thing she would say to him. If she was banished and/or run away, Zuko would have at least tried to find out where she was, wouldn't he? So that's my theory.

I rewatched the episode, She's dead... It says at the end where it says has passed. Her name is in there as Ozai is the husband of her and then it says "has passed."

But you have to remember that she ran away and nobody knows about it...that means that "has passed" is an assumption. Instead of making the citizens worry, make up theories like us, or even scoff at their rulers, they say has passed in order to, basically, make her disappear without a second thought.

True, It seems weird though that when Zuko asked outside in the garden the sad music came on, but we got to wait to see what happened, adventually we will all find out.

I just rewatched that part, and never once does Azulon's eulogy mention Ursa. They say Azulon was husband to Ila (sp?), who is passed, and father of Ozai, but Ursa’s never mentioned. Azula’s answer of “No one knows” is the closest we got to an explanation.

This just occurred to me... sorry if this has been brought up before, but Zuko's mom kind of looks like the girl that Koh turned into and said, "Oh, it was something about stealing the face of someone you loved..." Or am I just tired?

*rubs eyes* Oh my...hold on! I doubt it, because the second's face is more rounder and less sharp than Ursa's. But you never know... credit goes to firebender.com

Holy cow! That's a good thought! She does look alot like Ursa. But I think that Koh was talking about how the Avatar had come to him in a past life, seeking to slay him because he'd stolen the face of a loved one, so it couldn't be Ursa then. But who knows!
Edit: the eye color is different though

i think the explanantion for me would be: she probably ran away to save Zuko's life.i think she left the Fire Nation.

Well, lets keep in mind that the artists might have been different for the episodes, and that Ursa must have been older when (and if) her face was stolen. With Iroh having been to the spirit world, who knows? Maybe Ursa has too.
I'm stretching it, aren't I? xP
